Our client was stopped by police driving a vehicle that was registered in his name. In that vehicle was found a sophisticated hidden compartment containing £1 million worth of cocaine (37 kgs).
We represented a male of good character, who was 18 years old at the time of the allegations. He faced an indictment containing two counts of kidnap, two counts of false imprisonment and one count of blackmail. There were 3 co-defendants in the case facing similar counts.
We represented a youth, aged 15, charged with murder and manslaughter in the alternative. He was charged alongside another male youth charged with murder, and a third male charged with assisting an offender. The case also involved youth witnesses that gave evidence via s28 hearings.
Following a transfer of legal aid, we acted for our client in enforcement proceedings before Liverpool magistrates’ Court. Our client had a confiscation order made against him with a benefit figure of 6,423,400.00 and an available amount of £103,963.50.
Our client was accused of aggravated burglary of a dwelling. The Crown stated that the defendant forced her way into the complainant’s property, straddled her, and attempted to hit her with a plastic mallet. Our client’s case was that she had no memory of the incident.
