Our client was alleged to be the head of an Organised Crime Group engaged in the distribution and supply of Class A and B drugs. He was charged alongside 17 co-defendants.

The conspiracy alleged drugs were sourced from Merseyside and distributed throughout North Wales with 43 trips alleged to have taken place during the indictment period.

The Crown’s evidence included mobile and static police observations, and extensive telecommunications evidence including downloaded messages.

The case was extensively prepared for trial and many hours were spent taking our client carefully through all the evidence, 9 defence witness statements were obtained, numerous defence documents were available to support various parts of our client’s account, and phone expert and drugs expert evidence was sought. Counsel commented that the work our firm put into the case was phenomenal.

After 2 days of trial the Crown indicated pleas to the Class B drugs offences alone would be acceptable. The defendant was originally facing a leading role in a significant Class A drugs supply which on the sentencing guidelines would have lead to a sentence in the region of 14 years imprisonment.  The acceptable guilty pleas resulted to just Class B offences resulted in a sentence of just 27 months imprisonment.
