Client Acquitted of Kidnap, False Imprisonment and Burglary

Amy Cox

01 December 2020

This was a serious case in which the complainant was taken from one location to another by a group. The complaint was stripped, assaulted and held against his will for a number of hours. Our client accepted presence but denied involvement as alleged by the Crown.

We successfully applied for bail so the defendant was able to be with his family rather than remanded in custody whilst awaiting his trial.

After a 9-day trial our client was acquitted of all charges he faced.

This case was prepared by our Head of Litigation Amy Cox, assisted by trainee solicitor Milly Blunt. James Gray of Drystone Chambers was instructed.
