Acquitted of GBH with Intent

Amy Cox

29 August 2017

Our client was accused of punching the complainant whilst in a nightclub.  The punch led to the complainant falling to the ground unconscious, and as a result suffering a brain injury.

Our client stated he was acting in self-defence. Close examination and detailed analysis of the CCTV footage in this case showed the complainant and his group acting aggressively prior to the incident, and the complainant put his hand to our client’s neck area before being punched. We obtained defence witness statements from four individuals and called two to give evidence during trial.

Our client was found not guilty following a trial at Blackfriars Crown Court.

Amy Cox was the solicitor, assisted by trainee solicitor Annah Gould. Julia Mackworth of 4 Breams Buildings was our client’s barrister.
