Euan Macmillan
Euan Macmillan is a solicitor with over 35 years of experience and is the managing director of Sonn Macmillan Walker.
Euan qualified as a solicitor in 1987 and initially worked as a commercial lawyer and corporate stockbroker. He then became a specialist criminal defence practitioner and joined David Sonn in 1994, becoming his partner two years later.
As the Managing Director Euan has overall responsibility for looking after the staff, recruitment and organisational matters as well as making business and strategic decisions.
As well as running the firm Euan is a regular and well respected face at the magistrates' court. His experience means he is well equipped to represent any individual at their first appearance, from those facing charges of driving matters, low level assault, to complex and serious frauds and murders. Euan is a calm and concise advocate well able to read the room and advance the key points the Court wish to hear in respect of bail and sentencing. He is diligent in his case preparation, has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and gains his clients' confidence with ease.
As well as appearing in general crime cases at the magistrates' court Euan is also adept at representing those facing extradition proceedings. He regularly represents extradition clients at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
Euan also continues to represent individuals at the police station, helping clients make such important decisions at the earliest stage of a criminal investigation.
As an employer, Euan is an individual who supports and encourages his staff and has been the driving force behind the ethos of the firm working hard, representing clients to a high standard, but also for all staff to work in a close knit nurturing environment. Euan without question agreed to Sonn Macmillan Walker being a founding sponsor of Women in Criminal Law and supports those staff involved in the Youth Practitioners Association and DELF.
