Enrico Braguglia
Enrico joined Sonn Macmillan Walker in January 2023. He is currently qualifying as a solicitor through the Solicitor's Qualifying Examination (SQE).
Enrico volunteered as a Student Adviser at Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre. Enrico completed a first degree in International Law at Leiden University, The Netherlands, and then went on to complete a Bachelor of Laws- Senior Status at Queen Mary University of London, where he was awarded the Public International Law Prize. He is currently studying the SQE part-time.
At Sonn Macmillan Walker, Enrico has developed a wide range of experience in extradition law. He regularly prepares magistrates' and High Court extradition cases under the supervision of Katy Smart.
Enrico has successfully assisted in defeating extradition requests from various states, and has actively prepared cases from several requesting states including: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Spain, Moldova and the USA. Recent cases have included a full range of issues including complex arguments pertaining to forum arguments, prison conditions and human rights issues.
Enrico prides himself on his excellent client care. He frequently deals with clients who suffer from mental health problems, including young clients and clients facing asylum and immigration proceedings alongside extradition proceedings. Enrico is fluent and can take instructions in Italian, French and Spanish, a quality which is crucial to a good extradition lawyer.
