At the conclusion of the prosecution case on the 10th day of trial, a Judge sitting at Southwark Crown Court directed the jury to find Shahaab Hussain not guilty of transferring criminal property whilst working as a branch manager at Lloyds Bank.

Mr Hussain was arrested in February 2020 and represented by Sonn Macmillan Walker throughout the investigation stage of proceedings when he maintained his innocence.

We instructed an independent forensic accountant Mark Fairhurst and CCTV expert Robert Butler and painstakingly reviewed a large quantity of electronic material, including tens of thousands of pages of telephone evidence and banking records and 50 hours of CCTV footage, to assist defence counsel's masterful challenge of the prosecution case.

Our client and his family were naturally extremely relieved and delighted with this outcome. His wife wrote to us saying: “I cannot express my gratitude to you all for the support that you have provided to Shahaab and your professionalism and the meticulous work you have all done, and for the kindness and compassion you and David have shown during our encounters.”

David Bloom, assisted by Izzy Fish, instructed Sonal Dashani of 25 Bedford Row Chambers.
