06 June 2024

Our client was charged with being in possession of a firearm. He was facing trial in Luton Crown Court.

Following intelligence, police were called to an address where they found the item in a wall. The gun was analysed by an expert and found to contain the defendant’s DNA. Two experts were instructed by the defence in respect of the prosecution’s findings.

The defendant had no to link to the location in question, it being in another part of the UK, he suffers from medical issues which makes it difficult for him to travel.

The prosecution expert was thoroughly cross examined by the defence and the defendant was not called to give evidence.

The defendant was unanimously acquitted by the jury.

Rachel Hobba was the solicitor with conduct of this case. She instructed Matthew Radstone  of 25 Bedford Row Chambers.
